As founders of DATAPOINT FORENSICS, Wyatt Wilson and Adam Worthington's combined law enforcement and legal expertise earned them an esteemed reputation within the digital forensic space. Wyatt Wilson

Wyatt Wilson

Wyatt is a 27-year law enforcement veteran currently working in the Digital Forensics Unit of a major metropolitan police department.

 

His career began in the patrol bureau in 1997 and continued until 2007. He accepted a job in the detective bureau investigating identity theft, fraud, forgery, and financial crimes. In 2013, he was appointed to the Secret Service Financial Crimes Task Force as a task force officer. He directed numerous high-profile investigations involving money laundering and other federal financial crimes. 

 

His enthusiasm for digital forensics began when the Secret Service provided him with training at the state-of-the-art National Computer Forensic Institute (NCFI). His NCFI training includes Mobile Device Examiner, Basic Computer Evidence Recovery Training, Mac Forensic Training, Advanced Forensic Training, Vehicle Forensic Training, Digital Video Recorder Program, Call Detail Record Analysis, and Phone Repair Course. 

 

He also obtained his Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certification from The International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) in 2018. With over 1000 training hours, he maintains numerous industry-recognized vendor certifications in mobile, computer, vehicle, and DVR/NVR forensics.

 

Wyatt's experience includes the examination of thousands of electronic devices, including iPhones, Android phones, computers, digital video recorders, network video recorders, and storage devices. In addition, he has completed hundreds of mapping examinations using call detail records, Google locations, GPS data, and location data recovered from smartphones. He has completed forensic exams for cases including, but not limited to, Homicide, Felonious Assault, Narcotics, and Missing Persons, assisting numerous investigators with their investigations.

 

Wyatt has testified in federal and state courts and is judicially recognized as a digital forensics expert.

 Adam Worthington

Adam Worthington 

In 1996 Adam proudly became a law enforcement officer for a significant central Ohio municipality.  During year 14 of his law enforcement career, Adam accepted a position, maintaining his agency's computer-aided dispatch mobile computers and cruiser video systems (CVS) installed in over 200 patrol cruisers.  That role evolved into becoming the CVS administrator responsible for downloading and retaining all CVS videos.

 

Adam’s passion for digital forensics began in 2017 when he was recruited to fill a position in what would become his agency’s Digital Forensics Unit.  Soon after, Adam earned his Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certificate from the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), one of the most recognized and respected certifications in the digital forensic space.  A year later, Adam earned the IACIS certified mobile device equivalent.

 

Adam maintains his industry-recognized certificates and builds upon his expertise, attending various digital forensics training courses.  He regularly attends training at the Federally funded National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) in Hoover, AL.

 

Adam is currently a digital forensic detective for the same principal Ohio municipality. He has worked on hundreds of digital forensic cases requiring examining over 1000 digital devices ranging from computers to digital video recorders, mobile devices, drones, GPS devices, and mobile storage devices.  He has worked on multiple cases involving analyzing cloud account data from internet service providers like Apple, Google, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and others.  Adam has also mapped the location of multiple cellular devices, analyzing the call detail records from cellular service providers AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. As a result of his successful casework and expertise, Adam has testified in courtroom proceedings and has been judicially recognized as a digital forensics expert.
